Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation would like to wish those who celebrate a very happy Lunar New Year!
Lunar New Year is celebrated by more than 2 billion people, which is approximately ¼ of the global population. It is the celebration of the beginning of spring and the start of the New Year on the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar.
Celebrations last approximately two weeks and end with the Lantern Festival. It is the most significant occasion for families to get together and spend quality time with one another.
We would like to personally thank the Essex County Chinese Canadian Association (ECCCA) for being generous supporters of the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, ECCCA hosted events to celebrate both the Chinese New Year and Moon Festival. These proceeds went towards the support of purchasing new equipment for Windsor Regional Hospital.
Although they have not been able to host these events due to the pandemic, their membership has continued to support matching campaigns that have helped raise over $210,000 towards the Foundation’s COVID-19 Assistance Fund.
We also extend a special thank you to Roth Mosey & Partners, Standard Tool and Mold Inc. and Fineway Ceramics for their leadership and generosity in these initiatives.
